Schwartz & Benjamin: the creative forces behind daniblack Shoes
The creative forces behind daniblack, the cutting-edge women’s shoe brand, are none other than the husband-and-wife duo Daniel and Barbara Schwartz. Since daniblack’s launch in 2005, it has become a staple in the fashion community, gracing the pages of ELLE Accessories, People StyleWatch, Lucky, and Marie Claire, just to name a few. Style, luxury and craftsmanship are the core of the daniblack brand.
President Danny Schwartz is no stranger to the shoe business. In 1923 his grandfather opened Schwartz & Benjamin, a New York footwear manufacturer, with partner Ben Benjamin. Danny's father, Arthur Schwartz, transitioned the business to a "state of the art" import/licensing/distribution company. Schwartz & Benjamin has served as footwear licensee for many of the world's most prestigious fashion houses, including designer shoe companies Michael Kors, Anne Klein, Givenchy and Yves Saint Laurent.
Today Danny is President and CEO of Schwartz & Benjamin, which produces women’s shoes for Diane Von Furstenberg, Juicy Couture, kate spade, 7 For All Mankind, in addition to overseeing their own footwear collection, daniblack. Barbara Schwartz is Director of Product Development for the spectrum of Schwartz & Benjamin brands, and oversees the design process for all daniblack creations. Her background in fashion and technical product development and her instinctive sense of style, taste and trends are the guiding forces for the evolution of daniblack footwear.
